1-- My family namely son and granddaughter, a cut above their Grandy and Mom, just the way you want your children to enter the future. My granddaughter goes forward in medical research,North Carolina, an opportunity I did not have and my son is a very much self taught wise and good person. He does not buy into angst and anxiety and small worries as I did years back.
2- A positive Christian outlook has sustained me through a lengthy teaching and child aid career and still does =I believe in this complicated unfair world Christians are not just tolerant, they are loving in all circumstances. I try to live this way and surround myself with those same kinds of friends I try to make negatives into positives no matter what.
3- Nature- the natural world sustains me many days ,growing up in the hills of 'Wva and then many other states and countries,I look for and always find great beauty. From the hoot owl in early mornings to the giant cranes in my yard, I love it all!!
4 pets- Mine leave this world at 15 and I feel it's far too soon.I have had so many through the years. Recently a family gave me a dog on my birthday after the loss of mine . I had desired this breed but could not afford for my entire lifetime-This is a magnanimous gift I treasure every solitary day !!Last week my deaf cat was paralyzed for several days, chair she could not hear fell on her, but she is fine now .
5-Good positive friends, people who do not need accolades but certainly deserve them - a friend who brings me vegetables because i cannot walk well, one who picks up meds for me 25 mile drive , busy busy people who care ,don't gossip just are fun to be near.
6.- Counting blessings first thing every day and last thing at night .If I did not I could easily slip into an abyss of negativity and groaning
7-Fresh vegetables year round,I believe they are important for my well being and I eat mostly fruits and vegetables with some fish interspersed.
8- creativity -I work on projects some time every day , feeding my soul, painting, drawing, ideas on paper etc
9-Satisfaction with what I can afford- I think at one time I wanted more and more but I have lost all through several devastations and now I am satisfied being a minimalist.
10- Use of time- I can no longer plan my days due to illness,so I make use of what I can that makes me happy
11-Cutting lose the negative people around me ,they complain daily about the world , entertainment, sports, politics everything - it's draining .Complaining is a disease said one of my high school teachers.I've always remembered that for 62 plus years
12- Changing my reaction to work- being more grateful for it as I have been a moaner in past .
13 Sense of humor.I have a broad sense of humor and it makes my days so much fun
There is much more but these are 13 big blessings --shine on girl!!
an friend Joyce in Mass appreciating my gift to her

I'm all for nature, year round fresh veggies, family, creativity and humor!
ReplyDeleteI love your sense of humor -- the aligning planets. :-) I'm thankful, too, for all the positive people and things in my life. They keep the darkness at bay, for sure.
ReplyDeleteI gotta remember to be more grateful...
