Thursday 13 a look at flea market or thrift store art

I  am never one to critique art . I like a lot But some card stores have laughed at what they call craptastic art. To me it might be awful but to the painter, I bet it meant something or to the recipient.Who doesn't want to pay a dollar or fifty cents for a Rembrandt hidden beneath ; it's happened. Anyhow the  card store calls it "Craptastic Art" and just for fun I've slipped in one that appealed to me in a church thrift store a year ago (colors, technique and subjects(see if you can find it   I always question the inspiration behind the painting I mean was the man in blue high ??why is Jesus crying ??Because they are wearing too little clothing??..HEY WONDER WHO GOT THE THINGS I PAINTED FOR MY GRANDMOTHER AND IN MY CLOSET ARE LOVELY BUTTERFLIES FROM A STUDENT!!NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION FRAME EVERYTHING !!

  2. All really, um, stunning; but I wonder about why thae Chihuahua couple is included. Clearly, this one is high art, as compared to the, um, lesser quality of the others.

  4. Honest to goodness -- if I could find some of these on the cheap, I'd buy 'em for the exquisite terribleness alone! I had one horrible painting up in my flat for years before I finally decided to take it down - it was done by a friend of my father-in-law and was left behind when he (my FiL) moved out.

I shudder to think of it even now - and none of these are that bad! LOL!

    Happy TT to you! :)

  5. There are many collectors of this art . I find it interesting and could see an entertainment room or basement with it open for commentary . what really fascinates me , is they are almost always framed the same hahahahaha

  6. Those are wild. There's a loving glow to the portrait of woman and pig. The Jesus and truck looks like an old country song by Red Sovine. Our thrift store just has faded prints from home decorating stores.
